How play works →Welcome to the new, fast, scintillating, modern world of competitive golf for amateurs — where each competition is played over either the front or back nine of a registered Q9Golf club on designated days of the week, Sunday to Friday.
Q9Golf is a brand-new innovation built to capitalise on limited time, golf-skill improvement, and the competitive spirit in every amateur golfer. Each competition delivers prizes, and every season ends with recognition and rewards that comply with the SAGA amateur code. All participating clubs offer fifty (50) Q9Golf days a year — advertised monthly in advance.
Play a minimum of 3 rounds on the front nine and 3 rounds on the back nine at your local club to determine your final position on the leaderboard for the season. Your top 6 scores (3 front 9 and 3 back 9) count for advancement to the national finals each year.
Unlimited rounds. You may play as many rounds as you choose to race up the leaderboard. Each competition brings you one step closer to a national final and a place in the annual Q9Golf World Super Series Championship — where the top 4 golfers in each division (24 nationally) will be transported and hosted at the World Super Series Championship as part of Team SA Q9Golf.
All registered golfers automatically receive an R500 shopping voucher off a purchase of R1 000 from your own club facilities. Q9Golf 2026/27 season launches 1 September 2026 — National Finals October — World Super Series November.
Register from R450 →You play either the front 9 or the back 9 of your home club on a club-designated Q9 day. Your best 6 scores per season set your position — 3 from the front nine and 3 from the back nine. Q9 does the rest, updating your best scores as they happen throughout the season.
Front or back. Two competitions on every Q9 day at your home club, individual Stableford by course stroke ratings.
A (0–5) through F (26–30). You compete in your own handicap division, so a 22-handicap on 36 points is celebrated the same as a 3-handicap on 18 points.
Club qualifiers — top 3 per division per club to your zone. Zone qualifiers — top 3 per division per zone to nationals. Top 4 per division travel as Team SA Q9Golf to the World Series each November.
Your best 3 front-9 + 3 back-9 scores in your handicap division at your home club determine your club position. Top 3 advance to your Zone Final. Then the National Final. Then the World Super Series.
League structure →Once all scores are verified, the Top 3 per nine receive electronic vouchers redeemable at your own home club facilities. Vouchers can be combined to secure bigger benefits, in line with the SAGA Amateur Code — no cash prizes.
R450 + VAT annual fee. Includes your first round and a R500 partner voucher. Verify your handicap with HNA.
Pick your club, the Q9 day, front or back, and your tee slot. Bring a fourball or get matched.
